Joey focuses on assisting clients who are experiencing family breakdowns. She provides clients in high-conflict situations with calm and confident representation. She always recommends resolving issues outside of court, but recognizes an amicable resolution is not always possible. Joey has the patience and composure required for last-minute matters, fast approaching trials, complex litigation scenarios, and acrimonious disputes. Joey has experience litigating in Provincial Court (BC and AB), Court of Queen’s Bench (AB), Supreme Court (BC), and Court of Appeal (BC).
Joey joined Duncan Allen Law in 2017 after practicing in a full-service law firm in Alberta. She was raised on Vancouver Island and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Victoria before leaving the island to attend law school at the University of British Columbia. After graduating from UBC Law in 2012, Joey began her career in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. There she was offered a position at a small multi-service firm where she focused primarily on family law matters but also obtained valuable experience in real estate, wills, estates, and civil matters.
In her spare time, Joey enjoys spending time with her family, stand-up paddle boarding, and reading.
